The 9th International Tracheostomy Symposium (ITS) will be held October 23-24, 2025 at the David Rubenstein Forum at the University of Chicago in Chicago, IL. We are partnering with University of Chicago and Tracheostomy Review and Management service (TRAMS) to host an innovative two day program that brings together thought leaders for interactive sessions and scientific innovation. The program will feature the latest technology, patient and family perspectives, and state-of-the-art presentations on the management of the patients with tracheostomies. This is the premier event for tracheostomy specialists, doctors, nurses, allied health professionals, patients, and families to grow and learn together. We hope you will join us!




Comprehensive Tracheostomy Care for Pediatric and Adult Populations: A Hands-On Workshop

Join us for Comprehensive Tracheostomy Care for Pediatric and Adult Populations: A Hands-On Workshop, an exciting and immersive experience designed for healthcare professionals, patients, families, and caregivers. This dynamic, interdisciplinary workshop combines instruction from experts in nursing, respiratory therapy, speech-language pathology, and medicine with simulation-based learning and real-world case studies to build essential skills in tracheostomy care across the lifespan. Participants will explore key topics such as anatomy and physiology, tracheostomy tube management, emergency response, pediatric-specific considerations, and family education—all through interactive sessions and breakout simulations tailored to both pediatric and adult populations.
The workshop offers hands-on training with high-fidelity mannequins and equipment, laminated emergency care algorithms, and communication skill-building exercises to enhance care quality and confidence. Whether you're a clinician seeking continuing education or a caregiver navigating daily tracheostomy needs, this comprehensive program provides the tools, knowledge, and support to make a meaningful difference.
Continuing Education Credits
Below is a list of the types of continuing education we will apply for:

- AARC- CRCE - American Association for Respiratory Care
Satisfactory Completion:
To receive credit participants must attend the designated educational sessions in their entirety and complete the evaluation that prompts them to reflect on what they learned in the course and how they intend to change their practice based on this information.
